Contact Points in Dance and Physics.

Do you never thought that two apparently distant disciplines such as Dance and Physics have inseparable contact points?

During the experience of teaching Classical Dance I discovered that these two 'worlds' are closely linked and it is interesting not stop at the mere illustration of dance technique but studying the movement through an explanation of the physical laws that govern it.

What happens when we run a single movement? What forces are at play? How can we tackle or use them in our favor? Why do we fall from a balance?

A comprehensive answer to these questions implies a thorough study of the body posture and the analysis of the phenomena that surround us for knowing own limits. Knowing which are the limits and what produce them help us to overcome them.

It 's interesting and intriguing to discover how the laws of physics can help to understand the movements in dance and how dance is a simple demonstration of the veracity of physical principles.

An example: the friction, an obstacle to the motion, provides the conditions essential to perform movements such as walking, running or dancing.

Thus was born the idea of devoting an entire section, on my website, for divulging the most intimate knowledge of two fascinating disciplines.

I hope to give all visitors a good reason to approach the study of physics and dance or at least satisfy the curiosity of the mind to explain how these two matters can be reconciled.
